Weight Watchers Reveals Truth!
Weight Watchers finally admits the truth…

Diets Don’t Work!!

Have you seen their new marketing approach?   After years of making hundreds of millions of dollars based on the SCALE as the only criteria of success, they are now stressing the need for a life-style approach to proper eating.

While I welcome this new emphasis on changing the way you eat, permanently, not simply as a short-cut to changing the number on the scale – the Weight Watchers program has no component to help one successfully incorporate exercise into their lifestyle. While exercise is encouraged, they offer an incomplete approach. Fitness Together offers the complete package for lifestyle change: 1) Complete nutritional support; 2) Appropriate weight training; and 3) Cardiovascular exercise. Without all three, it’s like sitting on a one-legged stool.

Let me offer this perspective:

You Can Not Lose Weight to Improve Your Health - You Must Improve Your Health to Lose Weight. …

…at least long term.

Look, it’s easy to lose weight. I see people do it all the time.

FACT - 98% of dieters who lose weight gain it back and the 90% of those people end up heavier than when they first started.

The difference between what we do and what we see & hear about is this -- success in weight loss means you not only learned how to lose weight, but also how to develop a healthy mindset & lifestyle with supportive habits so you don’t gain the weight back. Successful weight loss means you never have to diet again. Focusing on weight loss, especially popular quick fix methods which are a desperate attempt for immediate gratification, without addressing the factors that caused it in the first place is a recipe for disaster. A simple shift in your perspective and priorities will guarantee permanent weight loss, health and vitality. First, address why you are overweight to begin with and then focus on health and vitality, not weight.

Effect: not sure where to start / not losing weight / reached plateau after seeing some results / gaining weight / wake up tired / cant fall asleep / disturbed sleep / feeling overwhelmed or discouraged / low energy

Cause: focused on weight loss and not health & wellness / not eating enough throughout the day / not eating quality food / not learning what’s involved in successful health, fitness and weight loss

Solution: shift your focus and priorities to improving your health and weight loss will happen easily / hire an expert / buy a book / find or create a support network / join a gym / go to a fitness, wellness, spa seminar, conference or trade show
Dieting

Diets don’t work. Period. End of story. If you know someone who lost weight following a diet, it’s because they:

1. Lost muscle and water weight as opposed to fat – which means you now weigh less on the scale, but have more body fat – good job!

2. Again, 98% of these people will gain it back so it doesn’t really matter.

3. Less likely than #1, they finally followed some type of normal eating routine as opposed to the random, chaotic feast & famine mode they normally put their body through.

4. Far less likely (but possible) than #1 and #2, they started eating more appropriately for their metabolic needs.

The majority of people in this country, including overweight people, are STARVING for good nutrition. Dieting is not natural and is an act of desperation. Dieting, skipping meals, especially breakfast and not eating after your workout will cause hormonal imbalance, weight gain and all types of health problems. If dieting really worked, then everyone who goes on a diet would lose weight permanently and they would look and feel amazing. The truth is that most people on diets feel awful and are acting out of desperation. Follow the following  guidelines and you will improve your health, lose weight and live in inspiration, not desperation.

Effect: not sure where to start / not losing weight / reached plateau after seeing some results / gaining weight / wake up tired / feeling overwhelmed or discouraged / low energy / poor focus

Cause: focused on weight loss and not health & wellness / not eating enough throughout the day / not eating quality food / not learning what’s involved in successful health fitness and weight loss

Solution: every meal should have a fat, protein and carb / stop dieting and eat real food / eat 4-6 times per day / eat high quality, fresh organic whole foods / hire an expert / buy a book / find or create a support network / go to a fitness, wellness, spa seminar, conference or trade show.
