Break The Chain
Another Holiday Season, Another New Year ...
Regardless of the endless chain of failed resolutions ... this year is yours!
If your habits bring you joy, embrace them. If your habits bring you regret, they are shackles, chains that keep you tied to repetitive actions and inevitable consequences. If your body declines during the holidays, and January brings you another doomed resolution, if that abuse-resolve habit seems to plague you year after year... break the chain!
We'll soon say goodbye to another Holiday season and another year. America will balloon up as usual, and New Years resolutions will abound. You don't have to be psychic to predict a pattern as predictable as the seasons. Just as winter follows fall, advertising and false promises follow the Holidays.
The "new" fat burners promising to amp up "fat burning enzymes" are already getting bang for their ad dollars. The "we're expensive but we're worth it" combinations of caffeine and stimulant herbs are going to generate hundreds of millions of dollars between now and January 15th. The Diet Centers are drooling as their ad budgets are guaranteed to bear a return. New hybirds between "cosmetic procedures" and "salon services" promise miraculous results from lesser forms of surgery. The tragedy is, if you haven't found true fitness, if you're not presently in a body you cherish, this pre-calculated advertising rush will victimize you as it victimizes fitness-wanting well-intentioned maybe-this-time-it-will-really-work hopefuls nationwide.
Call me boring. All I do is share truth. I don't "release" amazing new miracles. I have never "revealed" ancient secrets of an ancient tribe of Mayan ab-Gods. I've not invented the Thiel Thigh Trimmer or the Thiel-o-matic four second fat melt. All I do is consistently help people find new youth, new fitness, new energy, and new leanness.
I don't play the hype game. I don't twist, manipulate, or skew. I simply do as I promise. I empower people to gain control of their bodies once and for all and I've been doing it for nearly twenty years.
If you know me, you know that to be true. If you don't yet know me, I urge you to be skeptical, to be apprehensive, and to be wary. Since 1989 all I've promised and all I've given you is the truth when it comes to your health and fitness. I want you to feel protected, and then... I want you to feel empowered.
As we head into a New Year, I remain committed to ongoing betterment. I want 2009 to be better for you than 2008. I'll take it a step further. I want YOU to be better in 2009 than you were 2008!
I'm writing this with three intentions:
1. To urge you to realize you can take control of your body now, even with the Holidays in our midst.
2. To caution you against blindly believing the sophisticated new ads that will be flooding into your home through your television in the weeks to come.
3. To provide you an incentive to arm yourself with information and tools that can help you get off on the right foot.
In order to kick your power forward, to give you a true realization that with simple changes in the way you eat, think, and move, you can reshape and restructure your body in incredible ways, I invite (or re-invite) you to download, for free, my e-book:
"The Most Complete, Practical, Honest, Weight Loss, Fitness & Nutrition Guide for REAL People Who Want REAL Results REALLY Fast!"

Download the book and read it at your leisure. I assure you, it will leave you with a new sense of power. Even if it takes you the entirety of 2009 to complete the book, you'll be armed and ready to take on 2009 in a brand new body.
As far as blind belief, recognize that recent history has proven that,
THEY CAN SAY IT IF IT ISN'T TRUE!
Take it from someone who knows first-hand -- advertisers lie when there's a hungry market ready to buy. The creative minds behind the marketing of the ab stimulators, fat blockers, and other recent releases fined by the FTC learned that the fines are nothing more than a cost of doing business. They apologetically pretend they believed their own nonsense, they cough up a fine, and they happily review their bank statements. They come to understand that it's worth a $15-million fine if you collect $400 million in the process.
Do your homework. Do your research. Nothing sold over the counter right now is new or miraculous. I know those words are overused, but if you want a bit of insight, do some research on the length of time fraudulent advertising has victimized a fitness-wanting population. You'll be amazed how "ab trimmers" and "fat burners" have victimized Americans for more than a century . . . with the victimization growing year after year... as the population continues to grow fatter and fatter.
A good place to start your research is with the Federal Trade Commission. Go to
and type in "diet, health and fitness" in the search window.
In one FTC report on Weight Loss and Advertising:
It states: "...false or misleading claims, such as exaggerated weight loss without diet or exercise, are widespread in ads for weight-loss products, and appear to have increased over the last decade. ...Despite the unprecedented level of FTC enforcement over the last decade though, misleading and deceptive ads continue to saturate the market. According to health and nutrition experts, many of the weight-loss products and programs most heavily advertised are either unproven or unsafe, and frustrate efforts to promote healthy weight-loss efforts by promising unrealistic results."
""We have known for some time now that there is a serious problem with weight-loss product advertising. This report demonstrates the extent of that problem," said FTC Chairman Timothy J. Muris. "Reputable marketers continue to take care to avoid false and misleading claims, but it appears that too many unscrupulous marketers are making false claims promising dramatic and effortless weight loss to sell their products. It is not fair to consumers; it is not fair to legitimate businesses, it is illegal, and it will not be tolerated."
And here's some breaking news (NOT!):
"There is no such thing as a miracle pill for weight loss," Surgeon General Richard Carmona said. "The surest and safest way to weight loss and healthier living is by combining healthful eating and exercising. First eat healthfully - cut fats, eat at least five servings of fruit a day, and cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink. Next, get some physical activity in your day. Walking just 30 minutes a day, five days a week can reduce weight, and make you feel better."
